I returned to college in October of 2010, at the age of 45, and graduated from Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage with Honours on March 30, 2012. Having amassed 630 of the 327 clinic hours required to graduated, I felt prepared and opened my own clinic in Beresford, New Brunswick on April 9, 2012 and thus, Sports & Therapeutic Massage was born.
As my education progressed, and my knowledge of massage expanded, I was drawn more to therapeutic side of massage. My interest in sports lead me to the UNB Red Bombers Football Club where I was their massage therapist for the 2011 season during my senior year of school.
For seven seasons, I was part of the hockey staff with the QMJHL Bathurst Titan, as a Massage Therapist. I started with the Titans during training camp in 2012 and my goal was to increase my skill set and to shorten the learning curve by working with elite hockey players on a daily basis. I quickly became an integral part of the medical staff working closely with the athletic therapist and the team doctor. The experiences I had with the Titan’s has been exceptional, culminating with winning the Presidents Cup and being Memorial Cup Champions in 2018.
During the summer of 2018, I further expanded my toolbox by studying TMJ dysfunction. If you grind your teeth (especially at night ), suffer from headaches, whiplash, head and neck pain or your jaw feels out of balance when you open and close it, TMJ treatments can help relieve your discomfort.
Whether you’re an elite athlete, on your feet all day or have a more sedentary life style, Pain is Pain. Although my skill set has been honed in sports, I bring a therapeutic approach to my clients using Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Therapy to relieve pain.
